Description: This is what the Revelstoke Cross Country Ski Club used to call ‘Mountain Climb’. It is an old logging road which over the years had become an overgrown alder-fest. Not any longer. Two years ago Revelstoke local Travis Hunt began clearing the old road. Last season he put his efforts into fixing up the creek crossings. He plans to eventually put in a trail to the summit. This will prove to be a great trail providing long overdue access from town to the summit of Macpherson in summer. I went up the trail on my mountain bike last fall. I was able to get to viewpoint just short of Wells Creek. From there Travis has put in a ‘hiking’ trail beyond. Worth the effort! Its nice to have this trail back on the books. There now exists an access trail from the west end of Macpherson. Going up the the west end and coming down the east end to hit this trail makes a very fine traverse. See the corresponding sections on the website for further details.
Directions: Park at the Revelstoke Nordic Centre. Follow the cross country ski trails to the ‘Mountain Climb’ trail.
